Dr. Natalia Melchor

Dr. Natalia Melchor was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she spent her formative years with her beloved dog, Sake, and two cats, Nico and Maui.

 

She earned a dual bachelor's degree in Biology and Psychology from Boston University. Driven by her passion for animal care, Natalia obtained her veterinary degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.

 

Dedicated to the well-being of her patients, Dr. Melchor is deeply committed to preventative medicine and emphasizes a decreased stress visit for your pet as she is Fear Free certified. She places a strong emphasis on client education, empowering pet owners with the knowledge they need to ensure their pets lead healthy and happy lives.

 

Additionally, she has a keen interest in Cardiology and Ultrasound, continually expanding her expertise to provide the best possible care.

 

Outside of her professional life, Natalia loves spending time at the beach, getting together with her friends and family, cheering on her favorite sports teams, and trying new experiences.

Dr. Noosha Kohan

Dr. Noosha Kohandarvish was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley and attended Taft high school. She then went on to receive her undergraduate degree in psychology from UCLA.

 

After years of pet sitting, rescuing all types of animals and working at a veterinary practice Dr. Kohan decided to finally pursue her true passion and become a veterinarian, incorporating her psychology background to advance the human-animal bond. She received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from UC Davis, one of the top veterinary programs in the country. After graduation she provided general, emergency & surgical care at a busy multi-doctor practice in Hollywood. Her interests include behavior and dermatology.

 

In her free time, she loves making art, doing yoga and spending time with her husband, daughters & dog Athena.

Dr. Christine Fabregas-Arnau

Dr. Christine Fabregas-Arnau was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. Her first experiences with the love of animals came as a child. She cared for puppies, fed the neighborhood squirrels, played with hamsters and rolled around in the grass with the neighbor’s friendly cat. Animals were always a part of her life.

She graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor’s in Mathematics Applied Science. Upon graduation, she shifted gears into her passion of veterinary medicine, working as a veterinary technician prior to vet school. This involvement led down her path of obtaining her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University. She

completed her clinical year at the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School. After graduation, she continued on to a rigorous one year rotating internship at East Bay Veterinary Specialists in Northern California.

 

Outside of helping to save animal lives, Dr. Christine enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially her husband Lanzio (who was her high school prom date) and children Sebastian and Juliana. She also loves to play with their two dogs, Cece and Grace, cockatiel Baki, and tortoise Rafael.  They love to be adventurous and outdoors. You can find them volunteering & serving the senior community at her family’s board and care facilities. You can catch them having fun at the movie theaters, camping, playing in the snow, swimming and learning to surf.

Dr. Julio López was born and raised in Los Angeles. As a kid he dreamed about being a veterinarian and having his own practice. One of his earliest memories helping animals includes taking care of orphaned new born kittens with the help of his mom.

 

He attended High School at North Hollywood High Zoo Magnet where classes were held in bungalows located in the parking lot of the LA Zoo. While in High School he was part of the Student CITES project and was awarded a scholarship to assist researchers studying black sea turtles in Baja California.

 

He received his Biology degree from UCLA and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University. Dr. López returned to Los Angeles to complete a one-year rotating internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at California Animal Hospital Veterinary Specialty Group, followed by a three-year residency in Internal Medicine. He successfully completed the rigorous testing and publishing requirements set by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine to become a Board-Certified Specialist.

 

Dr. López has experience in all aspects of internal medicine with a special interest in diseases of the kidney and bladder, as well as endocrine diseases such as diabetes, Addison’s, Cushing’s and hyperthyroidism.  He also has extensive training in ultrasound and the diagnosis and management of heart disease. 

 

Dr. López has lectured both nationally and internationally and has authored chapters for The Clinical Veterinary Advisor textbook & The Textbook of Veterinary Internal Medicine.

 

Outside of veterinary life he enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling anywhere there is a beach, and keeping up with the Dodgers, Lakers, 49ers. If he wasn't a veterinarian he would be a conservation biologist working all over the world protecting endangered species.

Dr. Jessica Callisher

 Dr. Jessica Callisher grew up in upstate New York in a small city outside of Buffalo. She received her Bachelors of Science in Biology at Syracuse University. She left the cold weather to attend Midwestern University in Arizona where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

 

Her special interests are in dermatology, immunology, and preventative medicine.

 

Her hobbies are going on hikes, traveling to new places, reading on the beach, and watching scary movies. She has two cats Winny and Bia.
